| Nermal - Feline Chronic Renal Failure - My Mom's Cats - Memorials - Cats Home |
![]() ![]() This site is a tribute to the 14 years I was blessed with the presence of a truly special friend, a male long-haired tabby who got the name Nermal as a kitten simply by being the cutest in the litter. We went through good times and bad, sometimes alone, sometimes with other friends, but always together. Years later, I still think of him and wish for his presence, and sometimes I still cry for him. This site holds some of my memories of his life and, inevitably, memories of his death from chronic renal failure. Other cats might prefer soft cushions in cozy rooms, but Nermal preferred a grassy place in the sun, or at least a warm bright window. So, I've tried my best to create one more sunny spot for him. Nermal in the Sun is a memorial site, not only for Nermal, but for other furred friends who have left their humans behind for the moment. My mother's cats and mine have a long, intermingled history, and they have their own section. If there's a cat, or a dog, or anything else that you'll remember always as being special to you, feel free to email me about including him or her here. I've included a page with links for CRF info and support that helped me immeasurably. For more about my beloved feline kids, go back to the main cats page. You can also go directly to the Photo Gallery. ![]() Please protect your cat - keep him/her inside, outdoor cats have a much lower life expectancy. Please respect your cat - don't declaw, the physical and psychological damage is high. Please help other cats - get your pet spayed/neutered and support your local shelter. Why? Think about it, or call your local shelter or feral colony caretaker and ask, or email me. Text, photographs, and design all belong to Stephanie Shangraw. Please do not steal, use, abuse, alter, or repost without permission. To the best of my knowledge, all web images not specifically feline are free for use.
